WRECKNET 1.0.0: race, wreck, collect
The first Windows release brings two arenas, permanent upgrades and a bounty that makes a knockout the start of a racing decision.
WRECKNET is available as a free Windows download. Extract the ZIP and run WreckNet.exe. This is an offline game against bots, with Xbox controller and keyboard controls.
Finish seven laps or eliminate the field. Jackknife carries primary guns, homing bolts, shields and turbo through Gridiron Yard and Neon Pit. Between matches, spend credits across eight permanent upgrade paths.
The new Broadcast Bounty connects fighting to racing. A knockout starts a 15-second window; reach your next checkpoint to bank the bonus. Chain more knockouts to raise the stake, up to $500, but destruction or expiration loses the pending bounty.
Progress and options now survive a restart, with a previous valid save retained for recovery. Audio settings respect zero volume. Twelve combat sound variations came from the Audio project's Stable Audio 3 Small-SFX generator and passed Foundry's mastering and review pipeline. The soundtrack is two original procedural compositions. The release replaces the old prototype vehicle art and excludes the old soundtrack.
The automated release checks cover both arenas, controller bindings, bounty payout, results, garage, rematch, pause and mute. Save recovery has its own engine tests. A full-match soak and a capture from the Shipping executable supplement those checks. Physical controller feel and lower-end hardware performance are not established by automated tests.
The launch focuses on Jackknife. Additional rigs will follow when their art meets the same review gate.
